2019 WINTER LEARN TO SKATE & LEARN TO PLAY 

Our Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs are the perfect way for young skaters to learn the basics and fundamentals of being on the ice and the game of hockey! Our highly trained professionals make sure the kids are mastering the techniques needed to ensure for a successful and fun career on the ice!

 

SCHEDULE

Sunday, January 13th – Sunday, March 17th

10 Sessions (1 make-up offered)

2pm – 2:50pm Learn to Play

3pm – 3:50pm Learn to Skate Beginners

4pm – 4:50pm Learn to Skate II  

 

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT

Learn to Play: skates, hockey helmet with cage, gloves, pants, shin guards, shoulder pads, elbow pads and a neck guard

Learn to Skate: skates, gloves and a helmet

COST

Learn to Skate: $190

Learn to Play: $215

 

Spots are LIMITED, as groups are kept small to ensure each kid get the attention, coaching and repetition needed to see significant improvement! 

FALL 2018 WOMEN'S SKILLS 

This program is designed for women who are comfortable and confident on the ice, but are ready to start learning more about the game, tackle more complex skills and techniques, and become a stronger overall player on the ice! The program is the perfect mix of skills and competitive games to ensure all aspects of the sport are being covered!

 

SCHEDULE:

Sunday, September 30th  – Sunday, December 2nd

5pm – 6:30pm

10 weeks, for 15 total hours of ice time!

 

COST:

$285 per player

Averages to less than $20 per hour of ice!

$30 walk-on will be offered (ONLY if space available)

 

Spots are LIMITED and pre-registration is required! 

FALL 2018 WOMEN'S LEARN TO PLAY 

 This program is designed for women who are comfortable skating on the ice, but are ready to start learning more about the game, improve their skating strength and confidence, and get comfortable with the puck! The program is the perfect mix of skills and games to ensure all the essential fundamentals are being covered!

 

SCHEDULE:

Sunday, September 30th  – Sunday, December 2nd

6:30pm – 7:30pm

10 weeks, for 10 hours of ice time!

 

COST:

$200 per player

Averages to just $20 per hour of ice!

$30 walk-on will be offered (ONLY if space available)

 

Spots are LIMITED and pre-registration is required! 

FRIDAY NIGHT MIGHTY MITE POWER SKATING

All players that complete this 8 week program will have a much better understanding about skating posture, using long strides, utilizing both edges when turning, an gaining speed – all while having fun! Players should be comfortable and independent skaters who are looking to further their skills and confidence on the ice! This is the perfect program for players to ensure they have mastered the necessary fundamentals that are so essential at this young age!

SCHEDULE

Friday nights from 5pm- 5:50pm

October 5th – November 23rd (8 weeks)

 

COST

$200 per player, includes 8 sessions

2018-19 Girls u10/u12 Skills & Games

This program is the perfect mix of skills development and small area games to produce mid-season improvements that will have a significant impact! The skills portions makes sure all players have the fundamentals and basic skills mastered – as these are the building blocks they will need to experience success at the higher levels. The small ice makes the players ‘read and react’, while increasing the pace of play and number of puck touches. A great way to balance the regular season with additional fast-paced, beneficial and fun ice time!

 

SCHEDULE:

Saturday evenings, with a flexible schedule and times around league games

 

Session 1: October 13th – November 10th

COST: $115 for 5 hours of ice time

 

Session 2: January 5th – February 2nd

COST: $115 for 5 hours of ice time

 

FULL PROGRAM: $200 (includes both sessions and 10 hours of ice time!)

 

First 30 minutes: skill specific training to develop and further fundamental skills

Last 30 minutes: small area play to test out the new skills and increase the pace of play

2018 FALL MEN'S SKILLS CLINIC

This program is designed for men who are experienced hockey players looking for challenging drills and games to increase their playing level. The program will be run by Steve Dougherty, and is the perfect mix of skills and games to ensure all the essential areas of the game are being covered!

 

SCHEDULE:
Wednesday nights, October 3rd – December 5th

8:30pm – 9:30pm
10 weeks, for 10 hours of ice time!

COST:

$200 per player
Averages to just $20 per hour of ice!
$30 walk-on will be offered (ONLY if space available)

2018 MIGHTY MITE TEAM

Our Mighty Mite program is the next step after completing both the Learn to Skate and Learn to Play programs. The team is a twice-a-week commitment that focuses heavily on teaching the techniques and fundamentals of the game that are so important! Our highly qualified coaching staff will teach the kids with positive reinforcement, and they will become the strongest skaters possible to set themselves up for a successful playing career! It’s a great way to get introduced to the great game of hockey!

 

SCHEDULE:

* Once-a-week Skill Development/Team Practice

Wednesday nights 5:30pm

Wednesday nights 6:30pm

* We will be having TWO Mighty Mite teams this season, with the teams practicing either 5:30pm or 6:30pm on Wednesday nights. Team rosters will be announced once registration closes

 

* Once a week Games

Saturday mornings, start time between 8am – 11am

 

* Starting Wednesday, October 17th – Saturday, February 23rd

 

COST

$650 per player, paid in a payment plan

$350 deposit upon registration, $150 payments due on Sept 15th and Oct 15th

Both programs will be run by our professional instructors - Katelyn Kurth and Steve Dougherty!

KATELYN KURTH

- Played 4 years of Division 1 hockey for Boston College

- Served as assistant captain and captain her junior and senior years

- Played a year or professional hockey for the Boston Blades

STEVE DOUGHERTY

- Played Junior hockey in British Columbia, Canada

- Coached a u19 Tier 1 Girls' team to the USA Hockey National Championships 

- Ran clinics for 10 years throughout the United States and Canada
