TK TRAINING PROGRAMS

TK Training is a high-level program that is dedicated to developing the all-around athlete.  TK Training offers camps and clinics that cover on-ice skills, small area battle drills, off-ice training, along with video analysis, chalk talk and team bonding.  Players who work with TK Training are sure to improve their hockey-specific skills as well as become stronger, fitter, and faster athletes.  TK Training is committed to making sure they develop the elite all-around athlete with the healthiest and most effective techniques out there.  Come join TK Training's elite staff to improve your game, get out of the hot summer air, and get into the best shape possible!  Check back to this page to stay up to date with what we offer, and to register!

KATELYN KURTH 

- Four year member of Boston College Women's Division 1 hockey team

- Played professional hockey for the Boston Blades

Attended high school at the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA)

- Over 6 years of coaching experience with boys and girls ages 3-19

- Won Boston College's "Flying Eagle" Award in 2011 which is awarded to the Most Outstanding Senior Hockey Player

- Voted to the Hockey East All Star team

- Grew up in NJ playing boys' hockey through Midget Minor AAA

- Served as assistant captain at Boston College her junior year

- Served as captain at Boston College her senior year

- Part of two Beanpot Championship teams

- Won a Hockey East Championship

- Part of two Elite 8 and one Frozen Four team

STEVE DOUGHERTY

- Grew up playing Tier 1 hockey in NJ, attending USA Hockey National Championships at multiple age levels

- Played Juniors in Victoria, British Columbia

- Coached #2 ranked Boys High School team in NJ

- On-ice staff for Atlantic District Tryouts for USA National Camp

- Spent 10 years as instructor for Turcotte Stickhandling, traveling across North America running camps at all age levels

- Created and owns SoCal Elite Hockey; a spring and summer showcase tournament program that helps players advance to prep schools and colleges

- Served as Pro Ambitions instructor for camps in Connecticut, Minnesota, and California

- Served as head coach of numerous Tier I and Tier II boys' and girls' travel teams

- Coached a u19 Girls' Tier 1 team to the USA Hockey National Championships

 - Has developed and trained D1 and D3 players 

Mighty Mites Summer Camp

Our camp will offer skill development with proper mechanics and technique to ensure all players are developing good habits at this crucial age! While half of our ice time is dedicated to these skills, the other half is for games, competition, and fun! Players will get to put their new skills to test with relay races, 3v3 play, and other competitive drills! Our professional training staff makes sure all players are having fun and hopefully developing a passion for being on the ice, while also learning a lot! Kids will also get off-ice – which will incorporate school-yard games and relay races that translate to on-ice development. It’s athleticism and running around disguised as fun!

 

WHEN:

Camp 1: July 9th – July 12th

Camp 2: August 13th – August 16th

 

DAILY SCHEDULE:

9:30am-9:45am: Drop-off
10am – 11am: On-ice (Skills and Drills!)

11:15am – 11:45am: Off-ice
12pm – 12:40pm: Lunch (which is included!)

1pm – 2pm: On-ice (games and competitions)

2:15pm – 2:30pm: Pick-up

 

COST: $399 per camp

Includes 8 total hours of ice time, 2 hours of off-ice, and lunch each day!

MITE/SQUIRT SUMMER CAMP

WHAT: An all-day camp that focuses on developing the fundamentals at this crucial young age! Players will be taught the proper break down of the mechanics and technique of skating, shooting, and passing to ensure they have mastered the basics and created good habits before moving on to the next level. The on-ice training will consist of a balance between skills and games, making sure players’ personal development and overall game sense is improved, while having the most fun possible!

 

WHEN: August 6th – August 9th

Monday through Thursday from 8:30am – 4:30pm

 

DAILY SCHEDULE:

8:30am: Drop-off
9am – 11am: First on-ice session (skill specific training)

11:30am – 12:15pm: Chalk Talk
Team bonding, agility games, and hockey talks
12:15pm – 12:45pm: Lunch (will be provided by rink cafeĢ)
1pm – 2pm: Off-ice training
Team building, stickhandling and shooting technique, and agility training 2:15pm – 4:15pm: Second on-ice session (games and 3v3 play)

 

COST: $445 per player
Includes 16 hours of ice, 4 hours of off-ice, and daily lunch!

*Camps capped at 16 players for focalized and individualized coaching!

2018 SUMMER LONG SKILLS

TK Training’s Summer Long Skills allows serious hockey players to put in the time and work necessary in the off-season to become better athletes, stronger players, and see significant improvements. With the highest level of training possible, players are pushed to their limit in order to improve their full skill sets and overall game. TK Training is dedicated to developing all-around athletes, and players are guaranteed to end the summer as more complete players than when they started. The program covers all aspects of the game, and our off-ice training utilizes proven methods of improving stride technique and strength, while also improving stamina, agility and coordination.

 

WHAT:

Summer-long skills training
Each week, Day 1 on-ice will focus on skills and positional development, Day 2 on-ice will focus on competitive play and small area battle drills
Off-ice training will put the players through full body circuits and improve their strength

WHEN:

Squirts/Peewees (09 – 06 birth years)

Every Monday and Wednesday, from July 9th – August 22nd 6pm off-ice, followed by 7:15pm on-ice.
Girls’ u16/u19
Every Monday and Wednesday, from July 9th – August 22nd 7:15pm off-ice, followed by 8:30pm on-ice

Girls’ u12/u14
Every Tuesday and Thursday, from July 9th – August 22nd 6pm off-ice, followed by 7:15pm off-ice

Bantams/Midgets (05 – 00 birth years)
Every Tuesday and Thursday, from July 10th – August 23rd 7:15pm off-ice, followed by 8:30pm on-ice

COST:

$505 - includes 7 weeks, 14 sessions –28 total hours of training
(4 make-up classes will be offered throughout the program)
*All groups will be capped at 18 skaters to ensure high level of instruction and coaching

2018 Spring Squirt Skills & 3v3

Our program is designed to keep committed players on the ice during the off months, and offer the perfect mix of skills and fun! Players will skate for an hour and twenty minutes each week, with the first half being skills training and the second half all battle drills and 3v3! Our skills sessions will focus on edge-work, stride breakdown and power skating. Each week, we will build on the previous week’s skills to push players to push their limits and improve their game. The second half 3v3 will give the players a chance to have fun, improve their creativity, and put their new skills to the test!

 

SCHEDULE

Thursdays, April 19th – June 7th

Stoughton Ice Center

First 40 minutes: skills training and drills

Last 40 minutes: battle drills and 3v3

 

COST

$285 per player

2018 Girls' Beantown Classic

BEANTOWN CLASSIC

 

Futures Red/Futures Blue (Birthyears 99-03)

Training Camp: July 24th-July26th

Showcase: July 27th-July30th

 

 

WHAT: The Beantown Classic is the most recruited girls’ hockey tournament in North America. It takes place from Thursday, July 27th to Sunday, July 30th at the New England Sports Center (NESC) in Marlboro, MA. Our training camp gives the girls an opportunity to play for elite coaches and experience practices with college-level drills and training. The teams will learn high-efficiency systems to utilize in the games, while playing with and getting to know girls from all over North America. The tournament is the best way to get exposure to college and prep school scouts, while getting a taste of the highest level of girls’ hockey. 

 

TRAINING CAMP: Our training camp will consist of 3 days of both on-ice and off-ice training. The girls will get to know each other, be exposed to the highest paced practices possible, and will learn effective off-ice training methods.

TOURNAMENT: Games played Thursday – Sunday

COST: $450 per player (Includes training camp, tournament, jersey and socks)

WHAT: Giving the players a chance to receive high level training and guidance with high level competition!  We are putting together tournament teams for different age levels, to give players the chance to compete during the off-season! Our teams will attend a three-day training camp prior to the weekend tournament, to give the team a chance to skate together, learn new skills, and get ready for the competition.

 

 

TRAINING CAMP: Our training camp will consist of 3 days of both on-ice and off-ice training. The players will get to know each other, be exposed to the highest paced practices possible, and will learn effective off-ice training.
